{"id":3006,"date":"2016-03-08T11:47:13","date_gmt":"2016-03-08T10:47:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sva-potsdam.de\/?page_id=3006"},"modified":"2018-10-09T13:05:14","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:05:14","slug":"smp15-propeller-workshop","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sva-potsdam.de\/en\/smp15-propeller-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Propeller Workshop smp&#8217;15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear all,<\/p>\n<p>at the workshop on cavitation and propeller performance held on the second International Symposium on Marine Propulsors smp\u201911 in June 2011 in Hamburg, the SVA hosted the propeller test case and introduced the controllable pitch propeller VP1304. The VP1304 propeller was published under the acronym <a title=\"Potsdam Propeller Test Case 2011\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sva-potsdam.de\/en\/pptc-smp11-workshop\/\">PPTC\u201911<\/a>. A large number of different research groups participated and enabled the workshop to become a success by their valuable contributions and their commitment.<\/p>\n<p>The SVA is proud that it was also asked to host a case at the second propeller workshop, held at the smp&#8217;15 symposium in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marinepropulsors.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Austin Texas 2015<\/a>. For the second workshop calculations of the thrust and torque, of the cavitation behaviour and of the pressure pulses for the propeller operating in oblique flow were requested. Again the controllable pitch propeller VP1304 was used and the data published under the acronym PPTC&#8217;15 (Potsdam Propeller Test Case 2015). Oblique flow was accomplished by a shaft inclination of 12\u00b0, yielding inhomoheneous inflow conditions.<\/p>\n<p>In the following the geometry of the propeller and the experimental results (reports and videos) are given, which were used as basis for the workshop. Furthermore the data of the second propeller workshop can be also found, covering the assignment of the different test cases, the evaluation of the results from all participants and the presentatios given at the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>With the hope to have provided somehow useful data for validation purposes and to have set challenging tasks for propeller flow simulations, we remian respectfully<\/p>\n<p>SVA PPTC team<\/p>\n<div class=\"sva_clear\"><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>smp&#8217;15 Data<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In the following the geometry of the propeller and the reports of the test results are provided.
