In the 280 m towing tank, reliable performance predictions are developed by means of resistance and propulsion tests based on the recommendations of the ITTC. These are also carried out for the verification of the EEDI.In the very early stages of a project, speed predictions can be calculated from comparison with similar ships or with empirical methods.<\/p>\n<p>Exact performance predictions are produced by means of viscous calculation methods (CFD).
