SVA offers the design of ship lines according to the requirements of the client. These normally includes the main dimensions, speed and power. If a general arrangement plan is available it will be considered for the design. The design process takes place under close cooperation with the client to early dispel arising conflicts between the given data or the general arrangement plan and the desired performance of the ship. Proposals for improvement will be given and discussed with the client to find the optimal solution.
Lines design is done using the AVEVA-Marine software (earlier TRIBON). Final lines will be consigned as CAD data that can be two or three dimensional DXF format, IGES or other. Also original data files can be handed over for users of AVEVA-Marine or TRIBON software. Additionally the hydrostatic data and a speed power prognosis will be calculated and delivered to the client.
In some cases the main dimensions are not fixed and have to be determined in order to fulfil the specifications. SVA can offer parameter studies for such designs. Best values for parameters as main dimensions (L, B, T) or coefficients (CB, CM, LCB …) will be found using statistical methods and the SVA data base. The influence of the different parameters on the ship performance will be shown.
SVA offers the final fairing for production of the ship hull. Basis is a frame table. A body plan for these frames will be created. Finally a drawing in one of the CAD formats mentioned above will be delivered together with an offset table in ASCII text format.
